See moreA hospital in Cape Town, introduced the surgical robot Da Vinci XI in February of 2022 for the first time as public hospital in South Africa. The robot enables surgery with minimum cuts which has been proved to help quick recovery of patients. The hospital uses the robots for colorectal surgery, urology, gynaecology, and hepatobiliary surgery. It has four small 'arms' which are real-time controlled during the surgeries, allowing the physician using the 3D controller to be more precise at delicate moments for the patient's health. (Jul 2022)
