While the robot can perform tasks independently, in this case, the workers controlled it to apply paint on drywall, achieving a finish up to level 5, one of the final stages of wall finishing. The robot's system, which includes an extendable arm, can reach walls up to 5 meters high. Even though the human workers still do the final touch-ups, the robot's ability to achieve a uniform surface appearance exceeded expectations, driving more reliability. Hence, the robot becomes an ally to enhance safety by reducing direct contact with hazardous materials and extending workers' careers against labor shortages. (Aug 2022)
