See moreASIMO performed conducting in Detroit, USA. The humanoid robot appeared at the opening of a Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert held as part of an initiative to support young musicians. Walking slowly to the center of the stage with his unique form, ASIMO drew laughter from the audience and players, but when he and the orchestra finished performing together in breathtaking harmony, the applause spread throughout the hall. This performance was realized by learning the movements of a human conductor in advance, and the technicians programmed those movements into ASIMO. (May 2008)
