See moreA robot with magnetic tires validated the capability to climb the steel walls of a ship's hold to measure the thickness of the plates. The video footage of the experiment shows that the robot's body moves flexibly in response to the operator's commands, firmly overcoming the unevenness of the surface. Meanwhile, it climbed over bumps and corners without significant problems. The robot will eventually be equipped with demolition and welding equipment to perform dangerous work in high or confined places. (Apr 2024).
