See morePreparing for the 2023 RoboCup in France, the humanoid robot ARTEMIS is set to test its running and soccer-playing skills at the UCLA Intramural Field. Up to now, the robot has made regular walks around the campus, so the researchers could evaluate how it maintains balance on unstable surfaces and its capacity for falling and getting back up — an essential feature for its challenges during the RoboCup. Its creator aims to gain experience so ARTEMIS could be introduced in more complex places, such as humanitarian aid in disasters.
